The Martin D28 doesn't need a huge introduction. It is 'the' sound of the dreadnought (shape) acoustic guitar. It is the dreadnought that all other similar acoustics are measured by. An industry standard instrument, that has featured on more recordings than you realise.
It has that 'classic' acoustic guitar sound. Neil Young and Joni Mitchell and Paul Mac Cartney are some of the most famous players of this iconic guitar. You have likely heard some of their songs on the radio or even in your or your relatives' collections. When most people picture an acoustic guitar in their minds, it will be this one. Check out 'Heart Of Gold' by Neil Young (if you already haven't) and hear the D28 in all its glory. The early models 60s, to mid 70s with Brazilian rosewood (now extinct) are the most sought after. These instruments fetch high prices and sound incredible. Modern ones are still great sounding, but with acoustic guitars, it's generally the older ones that sound better, (if they are kept in good condition). Go try one out and hear for yourself!
