This one looks familiar doesn't it? Is it a Strat copy? Almost.... Is it better than the original Fender Strat? That depends on who you ask. I have had 2 of these in the past and a number of Stratocasters (3, I think). So which is better? Over the years, the quality control is arguably better on G&L guitars. Value wise, I would say that they are better than Fender.

So, who builds them? Leo Fender! Leo Fender and George Fullerton founded G&L in 1979 and they claim that they are an improvement on the original. Featuring Alnico pickups, and a unique floating bridge which in my opinion, does does function better than any Fender bridge I have played. The build quality is flawless in the USA models that I have had. (I have never had a budget Tribute Series). I sold my last one to buy a Jazzmaster (which is my main guitar) but I still find myself wanting another G&L at some point. If you are looking for a Strat style guitar, and you don't mind not having the 'F word' on the headstock, definitely try one of these out if you want a great value and high quality Strat style guitar.
